History

Petersen, Henson, Meadows, Pecore & Peot, P.C. was founded in 1979 by Catherine Holland Petersen. Virginia Henson and Jan Meadows were added as partners in 2005 and the firm became known as Petersen, Henson & Meadows, P.C. Jama Pecore and Tina Peot joined the firm as partners and the firm’s name was changed to Petersen, Henson, Meadows, Pecore & Peot, P.C. The firm also has one associate attorney, Allyson Dow.

The firm is recognized as one of the preeminent family law firms in the State of Oklahoma. The firm is nationally recognized as one of ten U.S. News and World Report Tier One family law firms in Oklahoma (see the ranking on bestlawfirms.usnews.com), one of three in the central Oklahoma area, and the only firm on the list that practices exclusively family law. All six attorneys work towards the highest standards of excellence, focusing on and caring for each client as they navigate the emotional and legal aspects of their family law case. In its 35-year history, Petersen, Henson, Meadows, Pecore & Peot, P.C. has obtained numerous awards in addition to the U.S. News and World Report ranking, including Superlawyers. The firm has been Martindale-Hubble AV rated since inception, which means that it was ranked by other lawyers as a preeminent law firm with the highest ethical standards.

Two of the firm’s partners, Catherine Holland Petersen and Virginia Henson, are members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML, www.aaml.org) which is a national organization promoting professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law. There are only 16 Oklahoma members and only seven in the Oklahoma City area.

The firm generally operates on a referral basis and accepts cases throughout Oklahoma but primarily in Cleveland, Oklahoma, McClain, Canadian, Grady, Logan, Pottawatomie, Seminole, and Stephens Counties.
